Trim and casing refresh (spot repairs)

Repair minor rot or surface damage on exterior brickmould/casing with epoxy consolidant/filler (Abatron or PC-Rot), sand smooth, and caulk joints. Replace up to 10 linear feet of trim if needed (primed pine or PVC).

Front door (fiberglass or wood) - supply & install

Remove existing slab/unit and install a new prehung exterior door sized to the existing rough opening (typically 36 in x 80 in). Include new jambs, brickmould, threshold, sweep, and adjustable weatherstripping. Option A: fiberglass stained/paintable (Therma-Tru Classic-Craft, Masonite Belleville). Option B: premium wood (Simpson or JELD-WEN) if you want authentic grain and period detail. No structural reframing assumed.

Optional: Storm/screen door

Add a full-view or interchangeable glass/screen storm door for ventilation and protection. Examples: Larson Tradewinds, Andersen 3000 Series. Color matched to trim or door, with closer and latch installed and adjusted.

Haul-away & site protection

Protect work area, remove and dispose of old door/trim and packaging, final clean-up.

Hardware set (handle, deadbolt, hinges, door viewer)

Supply and fit a keyed entry set with deadbolt and matching hinges in the chosen finish. Examples: Baldwin Reserve or Emtek (polished brass, oil-rubbed bronze, satin nickel), or Schlage Encode smart deadbolt for keyless entry. Includes bore adjustments and strike reinforcement.

Weatherproofing + energy upgrades

Replace/compress weatherstripping, add new door sweep, backer rod and high-quality exterior sealant at casing (OSI Quad Max), low-expansion foam at jambs, and threshold shims for proper sill contact. Verify reveal and adjust for even compression.

Door finish (paint or stain)

Factory paint option or on-site finish. For stain-grade wood/fiberglass: sand, condition, stain (e.g., Minwax Dark Walnut 2716 or General Finishes Antique Brown), and clear exterior spar urethane. For paint-grade: prime (oil or bonding primer) and apply 2 coats exterior enamel (Benjamin Moore Aura Exterior or Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane).

Repaint exterior door casing and entry trim

Mask surrounding surfaces, prime any bare wood/PVC, and apply 2 coats exterior enamel in the selected trim color (e.g., BM Chantilly Lace OC-65, SW Alabaster 7008).

Repaint shutters (pair or set visible on front)

Remove or mask in place depending on fasteners, clean/degloss, prime if chalky, and apply 2 coats exterior paint in the selected shutter color. Includes reinstall and new corrosion-resistant fasteners if needed.
